One of the most important things in the life of a teen is to be known and to be cared for by a church family. At Knox Church, our youth are a central part of our community, and we offer programs that develop their spiritual life, their faith in Christ and their relationships in the church with people of all ages.
Sunday Morning Classes
Knox teens participate in a Sunday School classes geared for middle and high school students. These are designed to encourage young people in their faith and to help them in building relationships with each other and with others in the church. Our youth director is Alex Hovda.
At the end of the Sunday School year in May, the youth are encouraged to plan and lead a Sunday morning worship service for the entire congregation. It’s a wonderful and creative time of singing and worship, and allows the congregation to recognize our youth including those graduating from high school.
Knox teens have the opportunity to participate in various service projects during the year. These have included helping with Vacation Bible Camp in June, working on Angel Tree, packing and delivering food for low-income families in south Minneapolis through Community Emergency Services, and participating in Mobile Loaves and Fishes.
